Dog Friendly Activities

We stay, we take a walk and we play with our dogs by our side in Dornoch. With beautiful golden sand beaches, heather filled moors and woodland areas on all sides, there are plenty of dog-friendly activities nearby for you both to enjoy whilst staying in our dog-friendly hotel.

Relax at Our Dog-Friendly Hotel

After a long day of playing by the sea and exploring the wild Scottish Highlands, you and your dog can relax at our dog-friendly hotel. Dogs are allowed in all our guest rooms, as well as the reception and bar if it is not too busy.

Doggie bags and baskets are also available on request for extra good pups.

Beaches

Water dogs will love to visit Dornoch with you.  Picture miles upon miles of golden sand with deep blue water and fresh sea air for you and your pup to enjoy together at Dornoch beach.

Feel the sand between your toes and smell the bright yellow coconut-scented gorse bushes nearby, as you and your dog wander or run down the beach. Bring your pup’s favourite ball, stop for a picturesque picnic, and go for a splash in the crisp blue sea.

Local Lochs

There are more places to go than the beach to give your dog a taste of Highland water. Scotland is home to over 30,000 lochs and there are numerous ones close by. Loch Fleet and Loch Brora are less than 30 minutes away and have plenty of great footpaths and cycle tracks for you to venture down, as well as lots of local wildlife

Dog Walks

There’s nothing dogs love more  than a long walk and thankfully there are lots nearby. Explore the Highlands together with gentle seaside wanders, mountainous scrambles and hillside hikes.

See our local walks section to find out more.

Water Activities

Fun for you and your pup, you can try kayaking, canoeing and paddle boarding in the local beaches and lochs. If you’re interested, let a member of our team know ahead of your arrival and we can make enquiries about the appropriate equipment.
